Let Jesus Be Your Lighthouse

I’ve always been fascinated by lighthouses. Whenever we travel along the East Coast—from the rugged shores of Canada to the sunlit beaches of Florida—I like to make it a point to stop and admire these timeless structures. Some are grand and stately, others small and weathered, but each one tells a story. They’ve stood faithfully through the years, guiding ships through stormy seas into safe harbors. Even the ones no longer active still remind us of the lives they helped save—when their light pierced the darkness and offered hope.

Lighthouse keepers were trusted to keep that light burning. Sailors depended on them to navigate treacherous waters and avoid the rocks. Their faithfulness made all the difference.

In life, we face storms too. Some are overwhelming—like the loss of a loved one. Others are quieter but still exhausting: financial struggles, family tensions, or the daily grind of trying to make ends meet. In those moments, it can feel like there’s no hope, no one who sees or cares.

Some people seem to sail through life with ease, untouched by hardship. But most of us, at some point, will face a storm. And when that time comes, the question is: who will guide you to safety?

My friend, let Jesus be your lighthouse. He is faithful. He sees you. He will guide you through whatever storm you’re facing. Trust Him, and He will lead you safely into the harbor.

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” —Isaiah 43:2 (KJV)

If you’re facing a storm today, know that you’re not alone. The light is still shining. Reach out, and let Jesus guide you home.
